Prioritizing Self-Care is a Must, Not a Maybe

Someone recently asked me, “Do you really need to get a massage every month?” My answer? Yes.

Caring for yourself is not optional, especially in pregnancy and postpartum. The physical and emotional demands of this season are real, and ignoring your own needs doesn’t make them disappear.

For me, that monthly massage isn’t just about relaxation. It’s restorative. It helps with muscle tension, stress, and overall well-being so I can continue showing up fully for my family and the parents I support. For you, self-care might look different. It might be therapy, time alone, a meal you don’t have to cook, or an extra hour of sleep. Whatever it is, it matters.

This stage of life asks a lot of you, but you don’t have to run on empty. Find what helps you feel more like yourself and make space for it—without justifying it to anyone.
